The Golden
Years
Marion's Golden Years included a very active member of the Zion Baptist Church, Brooklyn, N.Y. her church home of Baptism at a young age. She served faithfully in the Virginia Club, the Youth Choir, the Senior Choir, and as the church clerk for several years.
Within the past few years, Marion's health limited her ability to attend church, but her love for the Lord never ceased and she shared that love with others.
On May 1, 2015, Jesus called Marion home to receive her reward for her faithful service. We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (II Corinthians 5:8).
Marion leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband of 61 years, Burtel Joseph Batson.
She also leave to cherish her sons Burtel Darryl Batson, and Lance Peter Batson, her granddaughters, Ebony and Shannon Batson, her brothers, Linwood Riddick Jr. (Sonny) and Samuel Riddick (Sammy), her sister Betty Riddick, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.
